    The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Legion of Merit to Commander Jack S. Dorsey, United States Navy, for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding services to the Government of the United States during World War II. At an advanced base in Aleutian Waters, Commander Dorsey maintained his ship in efficient fighting conditions despite extremely bad weather and carried out numerous hazardous missions, contributing greatly to the success of our forces in this area.
