(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Seaman William J. McClaskey, United States Navy, was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for heroism on 15 August 1966, while serving aboard U.S.S. BERKELEY (DDG-15). Seaman McClaskey effected the rescue of a shipmate who was knocked unconscious on a piling and log fender after falling from the main deck.
