Moore, United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for heroism and extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight on 27 April 1965, while leading a photographic reconnaissance flight whose mission was to record the reconstruction progress of the Thyanh Hoa and Dong Phong Thuong bridges in North Vietnam.
