    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Commander Harold L. Marr, United States Navy, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in connection with military operations against the enemy on 12 June 1966. When his flight of four F-8 CRUSADER jets was attacked by four North Vietnamese MiG-17 fighters, he shot down one of the enemy aircraft and damaged another in leading his unit in the low-level ensuing engagement. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Naval Service.
