Roberts, United States Navy, was awarded a Gold Star in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving with Fighter Squadron ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-ONE (VF-151), in action against enemy aggressor forces in Korea on 10 June 1953.
