(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant James Aloysius Savage (NSN: 0-403195), United States Navy, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (Posthumously) for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a Pilot in Attack Squadron NINE HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE (VA-923), attached to U.S.S. BON HOMME RICHARD (CV-31), in action against enemy forces in the Korean area on 3 June 1951.
