The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Navy and Marine Corps Medal to Technical Sergeant Howard E. Albright (MCSN: 624738), United States Marine Corps, for heroism in the performance of duties while serving with Marine Composite Reconnaissance Squadron TWO, Marine Wing Headquarters Group, SECOND Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, North Carolina, on 15 June 1956. On this date, Technical Sergeant Albright, Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of Air Early Warning, exhibited outstanding qualities beyond that required or expected of him. While attempting to evaluate certain electronic discrepancies in an AD-5W aircraft, the left arm of Sergeant Joseph J. Warczytowa came in contact with two terminal posts causing severe electrical burns and seriously endangering his life. Technical Sergeant Albright instantly and correctly appraised the situation and with complete disregard for his personal safety, extricated Sergeant Warczytowa from said terminal posts. His conduct, courage, and skillful and instant application of professional knowledge and devotion to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
