The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Private First Class Roy W. Berg (MCSN: 456256), United States Marine Corps, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight in the Southwest Pacific Area. During the period from 6 March 1945 to 11 March 1945, he participated in his sixteenth to twentieth combat missions, over enemy territory in the vicinity of operational enemy airfields, during this period in which enemy opposition was probable and expected. His conduct throughout has distinguished him among those performing duties of the same character.
