Lee, United States Marine Corps, was awarded the Navy Distinguished Service Medal for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States as Sergeant Major of the United States Marine Corps from 30 June 1995 to 29 June 1999. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Lee and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country culminate a long and distinguished career in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and of the United States Naval Service.
