Lawrence Heyworth graduated from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, Class of 1943. From June 22 to July 20, 1968 he served as the 45th Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy. He retired as a U.S. Navy Rear Admiral.
