Ammeraal (ASN: 32148755), United States Army, for heroism not involving actual conflict with an enemy of the United States while serving with Battery G, 212th Coast Artillery Regiment (Anti-Aircraft), for heroism displayed in rescuing a woman from drowning at Angle Lake, Washington, on 19 July 1942. The exemplary courage and heroism displayed by Private First Class Ammeraal reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
