French (ASN: 0-479778), United States Army, for gallantry in action and disregard for personal safety while serving with the 331st Infantry Regiment, 83d Infantry Division, in action on 4 April 1945, in Germany. His actions reflects the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
