[This award supersedes award of the Army Commendation Medal (First Oak Leaf Cluster) for meritorious service from August 1959 to May 1961, as announced in General Orders Number 20, Headquarters Military Assistance Advisory Group, Republic of China, dated 16 May 1961.]

The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Lieutenant Colonel McKee, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
