    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to First Lieutenant (Infantry) Ralph V. Little (ASN: 0-1300666), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with Company I, 3rd Battalion, 362d Infantry Regiment, 91st Infantry Division, in action against the enemy on 20 September 1944, near Poggio, Italy. Leading his platoon in an attack upon Poggio, First Lieutenant Little and his men were subjected to small arms, automatic weapons, mortar fire, and even hand grenades rolled down the hill on them. (Remainder of Citation missing) The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by First Lieutenant Little, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
