Adams (ASN: 37103645), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the Medical Detachment, 83d Infantry Division, in action against the enemy on 10 August 1944, at ****, France. Technician Fifth Grade Adams, while serving as a surgical technician, continued to care for the wounded under intense enemy artillery fire, although he himself was wounded. The courageous and heroic devotion to duty reflects great credit upon himself and the finest traditions of the military service.
