The gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty demonstrated by Colonel Turner, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army Air Forces.

Maintaining a tight defensive formation until the target was reached, Colonel Turner led the formation over the assigned target and wrought vast devastation on important enemy installations. The outstanding success achieved is attributable to the courage, skill and brilliant leadership of Colonel Turner. His actions on this occasion reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
