The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General Tom Christopher Rives (ASN: 0-6526), United States Army Air Forces, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility in the Aircraft Section, Research & Development Division, Officer of the Chief Signal Officer, Headquarters, War Department; and subsequently with the Radar & Aircraft Communications Branch, Office of the Chief Signal Officer, Headquarters, War Department, from July 1943 to August 1945.
