The President of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Bronze Star Medal with Combat “V” to Second Lieutenant (Infantry), [then Master Sergeant] Blair W. Price (ASN: 0-2262325), United States Army, for heroic achievement on 7 September 1950 in the vicinity of Sibi-ri, Korea. On that date he was leading his platoon in an attack on an enemy-held hill. The advance of the platoon was halted by heavy enemy frontal and flanking fire and the platoon was forced to take cover in preparation for a withdrawal. During this action Lieutenant Price observed a comrade lying wounded and exposed to the intense hostile fire. With complete disregard for his safety he crawled out to him and, after administering first aid, remained there until he could evacuate him to a place of safety. The heroic action of Lieutenant Price in risking his life to save a fallen comrade reflect great credit upon himself and is in keeping with the high traditions of the military service.
