The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Brigadier General William Peirce Ennis, Jr. (ASN: 0-16436), United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility as Commanding General, Corps Artillery, TENTH Corps, from September 1950 to October 1951. (This award supersedes the award of the Legion of Merit (First Oak Leaf Cluster) to General Ennis, for service from 9 September to 2 November 1950, published in General Orders 85, General Headquarters, Far East command, 16 December 1950.)
