The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Technician Fourth Grade Morris L. Eisenstein (ASN: 32352207), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the *** Field Artillery Battalion, XII Corps, in action against the enemy during the period 8 to 10 October 1944, in France. Technician Fourth Grade Eisenstein was a radio operator with the forward observer party of his battery which was supporting an attack by the *** Infantry. His party was subjected to enemy mortar fire during which he was wounded. Despite his wounds, Technician Fourth Grade Eisenstein continued on with the forward party acting as radio operator and chief non-commissioned officer. The courage and devotion to duty of Technician Fourth Grade Eisenstein reflect great credit upon himself and uphold the highest traditions of the Military Service of the United States.
