(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: General John Daniel Lavelle, United States Air Force, was awarded the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States, culminating as Commander of the SEVENTH Air Force, with headquarters at Tan Son Nhut Airfield, Republic of Vietnam, from 1971 to 1972.
