(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: First Lieutenant Daniel James, III, United States Air Force, was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight while serving as a Forward Air Controller, Cam Ranh Bay, South Vietnam, from 1969 to 1970, and as a Squadron Assistant Flight Commander, Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, from 1974 to 1975, in action against the enemy during 500 combat missions over Southeast Asia. His devotion to duty and courage under all conditions serve as an inspiration to his fellow flyers. His actions reflect the highest credit upon himself and the Armed Forces of the United States.
