The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Second Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Third Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain Keith Norman Hall (AFSN: AO-3068567), United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4D Aircraft Commander with the 13th Tactical Fighter Squadron, in action over North Vietnam on 19 December 1967. On that date, while flying fighter cover over the most heavily defended area yet encountered in aerial combat, Captain Hall engaged a flight of high performance hostile fighters. Without regard for his own personal safety, Captain Hall drove the opposing forces from the target area, enabling the friendly force to complete their mission successfully and without loss. The professional competence, aerial skill and devotion to duty displayed by Captain Hall reflect great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Air Force.

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross with Combat “V” to Captain Keith Norman Hall (AFSN: AO-3068567), United States Air Force, for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an F-4D Aircraft Commander with the 13th Tactical Fighter Squadron, in action over Southeast Asia on 10 January 1968. On that date, while flying fighter cover for a strike force deep in hostile territory, Captain Hall’s aircraft was hit and severely damaged by a surface-to-air missile. With great skill and without regard for his own personal safety, Captain Hall guided the aircraft out of the target area and toward the nearest recovery airfield successfully. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Captain Hall reflect great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Air Force.

During these periods, Colonel Hall’s ceaseless efforts and devotion to duty resulted in exceptional contributions to the dynamic and diverse mission of the 52d Tactical Fighter Wing, the North Atlantic Treaty Organizaiton and the United States Air Force in Europe. His cynamic leadership, innovative management and exemplary insight were instrumental in the resolution of numerous complex problems associated with the development and acquisition of several high technology systems of major importance to the strategic defense of the North American continent. The superior results of his intensive efforts to improve United States air defense capability will ensure the effectiveness of atmospheric defense well into the next decade.
