(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Brigadier General Vernon Chong, United States Air Force, was awarded the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United States as Commander, Malcolm Grow U.S. Air Force Medical Center, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, and subsequently as Command Surgeon, Headquarters, Military Air Lift Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, from 1 December 1981 to 11 February 1982. The singularly distinctive accomplishments of General Chong and his dedicated contributions in the service of his country reflect the highest credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
