(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to Captain (Field Artillery) Jack Leroy Marinelli, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism in connection with military operations against an armed enemy while serving as Air Artillery Officer, II Corps, in action against enemy forces in Italy during the period from 25 October 1943 to 3 February 1944. Captain Marinelli’s outstanding courage and dedication to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
