The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Distinguished Flying Cross to First Lieutenant Theodore Stanley Sienicki, United States Air Force, for extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as an F-4D Weapons Systems Officer with the 25th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand, in action in Southeast Asia on 3 April 1972. On that date, Lieutenant Sienicki flew in a flight of two F-4D aircraft in support of two downed crewmembers deep in hostile territory. Despite intense ground fire, directed at his aircraft, minimal weather conditions, and shadows of nightfall, Lieutenant Sienicki’s superior airmanship resulted in successful recovery of one crewmember. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Lieutenant Sienicki reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
