The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Technician Fifth Grade Charles C. Cass (ASN: 37023298), United States Army, for gallantry in action and disregard for personal safety while serving with Troop E, 24th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron (Mechanized), in action against the enemy on 5 December 1944, in Germany. Technician Fifth Grade Cass’ outstanding gallantry and devotion to duty are in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflects great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
