The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 8, 1918 (amended by act of July 25, 1963), takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Major John Horace Reddoch (AFSN: FR-25912/AO-2218766), United States Air Force, for gallantry in connection with military operations against an opposing armed force as an F-105 Pilot of the 13th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Korat Royal Thai Air Base, Thailand, PACIFIC Air Forces, in action on 11 August 1967. On that date, Major Reddoch led an independent portion of the surface-to-air suppression flight in support of a large strike force over North Vietnam. Braving repeated, intense and accurate anti-aircraft and missile fire, he assisted in destroying the offensive capability of two missile sites and successfully neutralized the aggressive actions of five other missile sites. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Major Reddoch has reflected great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
