The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Lieutenant Colonel (Adjutant General’s Corps) Frederic L. Huidekoper, United States Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished services to the Government of the United States, in a duty of great responsibility during World War I. As Liaison Officer of the 33d Division, with the 18th French Division during the Meuse-Argonne offensive, Colonel Huidekoper did this liaison work as a volunteer and at times performed his duties in great danger of his life. This work was of exceedingly great responsibility.
