The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Second Award of the Distinguished Flying Cross with Combat “V” to Major Peter Tsouprake (AFSN: 0-45448A), United States Air Force, for heroism while participating in aerial flight as an Electronics Warfare Officer near Hanoi, North Vietnam on 14 August 1966. On that date, while performing duties in a specially equipped F-105F Thunderchief, Major Tsouprake directed his pilot in an attack which resulted in the destruction of a hostile surface-to-air missile site. In addition, Major Tsouprake continued to perform his duties throughout an engagement with hostile aircraft. The outstanding heroism and selfless devotion to duty displayed by Major Tsouprake reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
