(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Colonel (Infantry) Forbie H. Privett, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 6th Infantry Division in New Guinea, during World War II. Colonel Privett repeatedly led charges under heavy enemy fire. When, apparently, the Japanese had been driven from the field, he led small units deep into enemy territory and seized valuable equipment. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
