(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Private John C. Evans (ASN: 33613006), United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for gallantry in action while serving with the Military Police Platoon of the 83d Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in the European Theater of Operations on 16 December 1944. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
