Headquarters, 30th Infantry Division, General Orders No. 159 (June 19, 1945)

The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class Stanley R. Hribar (ASN: 35249406), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 117th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy on 17 November 1944, in Germany. A medical aid man crawling forward to assist an injured man was wounded by enemy fire. Private First Class Hribar, despite heavy enemy mortar and machine gun fire, heroically advanced to both wounded men and carried them one at a time to the safety of a nearby shell crater. He then crawled back under fire and returned with litter bearers to evacuate the wounded men. Private First Class Hribar’s gallant action reflects great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States Armed Forces.
