Roy Ziegler served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959 to 1963, before entering service in the U.S. Army as a Pilot and a Warrant Officer. He was interned as a Prisoner of War in Southeast Asia after he was shot down in South Vietnam on February 8, 1968, and was held until his release on March 3, 1973.
