(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Private First Class George R. Wylie, United States Army, for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with the 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, in action against the enemy in Korea in 1952. Private First Class Wylie was cut off from the rest of his patrol by a swarm of enemy soldiers. He personally accounted for ten of them as he fought his way back. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
