(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Sergeant Trevor Alan Wise, Royal Australian Air Force, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for gallantry in action while serving with the Royal Australian Air Force, in action near Lae, New Guinea, on 25 May 1942. Gunner Hartley, while assisting in the directing of artillery fire, repeatedly helped to establish observation posts in the most forward areas. Several times he went through enemy-occupied ground to get information, and while on one of these patrols was killed. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the Military Service.
