Bennett Meyers was commissioned in the Signal Reserve in 1918. After serving in the Army Air Forces in World War II, he transferred to the U.S. Air Force when it became a separate branch of service in 1947. General Meyers was dismissed from the service of the United States by President Truman July 16, 1948, after conviction of a felony.
