The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pride in presenting the Soldier’s Medal (Posthumously) to Private Clayton O. Krogstad (ASN: 36234544), United States Army, for heroism involving voluntary risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy while serving with Company D, 33d Armored Engineer Battalion, 7th Armored Division, during the field maneuvers of the IV Corps, on 17 October 1942. The heroism displayed by Private Krogstad on this occasion reflects great credit upon himself and the military service.
