(Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: Gunner Leslie J. Hartley, Australian Imperial Force, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for gallantry in action while serving with the Australian Imperial Force, in action near Buna, New Guinea, from 15 December 1942 to 29 December 1942. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the Military Service.
