    (Citation Needed) – SYNOPSIS: First Lieutenant (Coast Artillery) Fred S. Dewey, Jr. (ASN: 0-358605), United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving with Battery F, 60th Coast Artillery Regiment (Anti-Aircraft), in action in Philippine Islands in 1942. First Lieutenant Dewey’s gallant actions and selfless devotion to duty, without regard for his own safety, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
