    The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Corporal [then Private First Class] Bryan Webb, United States Army, for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy as a member of Headquarters, 60th Military Government Company, on 10 May 1947, at Pusan, Korea. Without hesitation, he climbed a high voltage electric transmission pole where one of his comrades was suspended head down an suffering from a severe electrical shock. Corporal Webb, at the risk of his life and working close to a live electric cable, carefully lowered the man to the ground. He then descended from the pole and employed artificial respiration for nearly an hour in an attempt to save the life of the soldier. Corporal Webb’s heroic actions are deserving of the highest praise.
