The Secretary of the Army of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Army Commendation Medal with Combat “V” to Sergeant Philip R. Benezue, United States Army, for valorous actions from 22 to 23 September 2006 during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM 05-07. Sergeant Benezue displayed outstanding ingenuity and personal courage that contributed to the successful extraction and casualty evacuation of his fellow soldiers. His actions are in keeping with the finest traditions of military service and reflect distinct credit upon himself, this Command, and the United States Army.
