The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress, July 2, 1926, takes pleasure in presenting the Soldier’s Medal to Private Wesley R. Kochy (ASN: 36627942), United States Army, for heroism at the risk of life not involving conflict with an armed enemy while serving with the 80th Airborne Anti-Aircraft Battalion, 82d Airborne Division, at Normandy, France, on 14 June 1944. His gallant actions and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself and the United States Army.
