Awarded for actions during the Global War on Terror

The Secretary of the Army of the United States of America takes pleasure in presenting the Army Commendation Medal with Combat "V" to Private First Class Chase Miller, United States Army, for exceptionally valorous actions while assigned as the driver for a Bradley Fighting Vehicle during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. His ability to rapidly identify and engage the enemy on 31 January 2010 effectively destroyed an enemy IED cell, making the Ash Shura District a safer place for all security forces and Iraqi citizens. His bravery is in keeping with the highest traditions of military heroism and reflects distinct credit upon himself, the United States Division-North, and the United States Army.
