(Citation and/or Narrative Needed) - SYNOPSIS: Colonel (Infantry) Daniel Bartlett Allyn, United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star for gallantry in action in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM, in Iraq, while serving as Commanding Officer of the 3d Brigade, 3d Infantry Division in April 2003. Colonel Allyn's heroic leadership and dedicated devotion to duty, without regard for his own life, were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and reflect great credit upon himself, the 3d Infantry Division, and the United States Army.
